Motorola, Inc. was an American multinational telecommunications company founded on September 25, 1928, based in Schaumburg, Illinois. After having lost $4.3 billion from 2007 to 2009, the company demerged into two independent public companies. Motorola Mobility was sold to Google in 2012, and acquired by Chinese company Lenovo in 2014. Moto has launched its Moto G 5G.
This time they have launched a new 5G device or rather the cheapest 5G smartphone, i.e Moto G 5G launched. It is launched today, December 3, 2020.
Build and Specifications
Motorola is well known for its great price to value ratio. The phones come with stock Android UI with no bloatware and My Moto app. My Moto is an assistance app where you can customize the icons, change theme or have access to the user experience improving features. For example- Chop Chop Flash- To turn On the flash, Twist Twist Camera- To turn on the camera or switch to front or rear.
Other features include the Attentive Display, Three-Finger Screenshot, Voice Unlock, Moto Key and every other feature provided by them.
Taking a look at specs, the phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 750 5G Octa-core SoC. It comes with a 6.70-inch FullHD+ display with a resolution of 1080×2400 pixels at a pixel density of 394 pixels per inch. Moto G 5G comes with a 5000 mAh battery and 20W Type-C Turbo Charger. Moto g 5G has 6GB RAM & 128GB ROM only. Powered by Android 10 out of the box and is upgradable to Android 11.
The phone has a Hybrid SIM slot and can expand storage up to 1TB via microSD card. Moto G 5G is IP52 certified for dust protection.
Moto G 5G Camera
The phone comes with a triple camera set-up but looks like a quad-camera set-up. This creates an illusion caused due to flash in the camera module. The primary camera comes is of 48 MP with an f/1.7 aperture, it by default uses their Quad-Pixel technology shooting it at 16 MP. The second is an 8 MP wide-angle camera with an f/2.2 aperture and the third is a 2 MP camera with an f/2.4 aperture. The front camera is a 16 MP punch-hole camera with an f/2.2 aperture. The camera comes with a new UI. As a result, the Spot Colour feature works while recording.
Connectivity options on the Motorola Moto G 5G include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C. Sensors on the phone include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, compass/ magnetometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and fingerprint sensor. It has all the bands required for 5G and can work anywhere in the world.
